The Gradient Map Node is a workaround to Mari's lack of proper Ramps/Gradient.
It acts like a Ramp Node with a maximum of 8 bands to remap your input with.
+

Supplies the Color or Texture that you want to remap
- Color 1 - 8
Supplies the colors to be used for each band of a ramp. If any of these ports are mapped, the corresponding
color field of the node properties is no longer used.
MAIN TAB

Determines the number of steps the generated gradient should consist of and how many of
the color/position fields are evaluated
- Color 1 - 8
The Color of each step the gradient is comprised of. Only the Color fields are evaluated that fall within the range
of the Bands value set in the General Group
- Position 1 - 8
The position of each step the gradient is comprised of. Only the position fields are evaluated that fall within the range
of the Bands value set in the General Group
